What are lab grown diamonds?

Lab-grown diamonds are diamonds created in a laboratory setting using advanced technological processes that mimic the natural diamond-growing environment. They have the same chemical composition, physical properties and optical characteristics as natural diamonds but are ethically and sustainably produced.

How lab grown diamonds are made?

Lab-grown diamonds are created using two primary methods: High Pressure High Temperature (HPHT) and Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD). In HPHT, carbon is subjected to high pressure and temperature, mimicking natural diamond formation. CVD involves introducing a carbon-containing gas into a chamber, where it breaks down and deposits diamond material onto a substrate. These processes result in the growth of diamond crystals, which are then cut and polished into gem-quality stones.

What is the price and budget of lab-grown diamonds compared to natural diamonds?

The price of lab-grown diamonds is generally lower compared to natural diamonds of similar quality. Lab-grown diamonds offer a more affordable option due to their controlled production process and avoidance of mining expenses.

Are lab diamonds real?

Yes, lab diamonds are identical to earth mined diamonds. There is no difference between the two except to their origin. They are certified and graded by the same international agencies that certify mined diamonds such as IGI or GIA.

How can I make out difference between a lab diamond and an earth mined diamond?

You cannot differentiate between a lab diamond and an earth mined diamond with the naked eye. They are chemically and optically identical. Only machine testing can identify the difference.

Why are lab diamonds less priced?

Lab diamonds are generally less expensive because they are produced in controlled environments without mining costs and supply limitations associated with earth mined diamonds.

Do you give a certificate of authentication?

Yes, all solitaire diamonds above 0.50 carats come with a unique IGI certificate. The certificate number is inscripted on the diamond girdle with a laser.

Are lab diamonds same as moissanite or cubic zirconia or American diamonds or Swarovksi?

No, lab diamonds are real diamonds. Moissanites, cubic zirconias, American stones and Swarovski are not diamonds and do not come with diamond certification. A naked human eye cannot differentiate between a lab diamond and an earth mined diamond.
