Where men's ring design is heading: titanium, gold, and one stone
The most interesting men's ring in True Diamond's range is not made of one metal. It is 4.44 grams of aerospace-grade titanium carrying 2.22 grams of gold, and the gold is the expensive half.
What is actually changing in men's rings?
Two metals in one ring, instead of one. Engineered materials are moving from the band into the design language, and precious metal is being used as an accent rather than as the whole object.
For most of the last decade a men's ring meant a heavy gold band with a stone in it, and the only real decisions were karat and width. What is shifting is the assumption that the whole ring has to be made of the precious stuff. Titanium, ceramic and steel are turning up as the structure, with gold used where it shows.
That is not a styling trend. It changes what a ring weighs, what it costs and how it wears, and it opens up a look that solid gold cannot do: two different metals meeting on one hand.
What is the Obsidian Flame made of?
Grade 2 titanium for the band, 14 or 18 KT gold for the head that holds the stone, and a single half-carat diamond. Two parts titanium to one part gold by weight, and mostly gold by value.

Read that table and the ring stops being a titanium ring. The gold is worth more than twice the titanium, and it is the component the karat selector changes: choose 18 KT and the price moves to ₹66,825. Colour and ring size change nothing at all, which is unusual and worth knowing before you shop, because there is no size penalty here.
The two metals meet at the head. The band is brushed titanium, squared rather than rounded, and the gold is used only where it holds the stone.
Why titanium, and what is Grade 2?
Grade 2 is commercially pure titanium, the specification used almost everywhere a part has to be light, strong and corrosion-proof. True Diamond's own material graphics point at aerospace use.
The practical consequences on a finger are the ones that matter. Titanium is roughly three times lighter than gold by volume, which is why a band this substantial does not wear like a heavy ring. It does not tarnish, and it does not need the rhodium replating that white gold does. True Diamond also states it is seven times stronger than platinum. That figure is the brand's own, and ask which property it refers to before treating it as a specification.

Why does one stone work better here than several?
Because the ring already has two materials doing visual work. A single 0.5 carat stone finishes it; scattered pave would compete with the metal join.
The diamond is one 0.5 carat stone graded EF VVS/VS, not a spread of accents. On a bi-metal ring that is the right call. The eye is already tracking a boundary between grey and gold, and adding a row of small stones along the shoulders would blur exactly the line the design is built around.
It is also the reason the head is gold rather than titanium. Titanium is hard to work into fine prongs, and a gold head both solves that and creates the contrast.
Does finish or carat drive the price?

The half-carat Obsidian Flame costs more than the 1 ct Ardor, the 1 ct Regal and the 0.8 ct Colossus. Double the stone weight, less money. What separates them is how much gold is in the construction and how much work the finish takes.
That is the whole design direction in one column of numbers. In a range where a bigger diamond costs less than a better-finished ring, buyers are not paying for carat any more. They are paying for material and craft. If you want the most stone for the money in titanium, the Ardor at ₹35,450 is the buy. If you want the ring people ask about, it is not.

What should you check before buying a bi-metal ring?
- Ask which part is which metal. "Titanium ring" can mean all titanium, or a titanium band with gold elements. The price breakup on the product page tells you the weight of each.
- Decide karat on the gold, not the ring. Here the karat selector changes only the gold component, and it is a ₹5,988 decision.
- Check whether it can be resized. Titanium cannot be sized the way gold can, so get measured properly rather than planning to adjust it later.
- Ignore size when budgeting. Unusually for this catalogue, this ring costs the same in every size.
- Match the gold colour to what you already wear. The band is grey whatever you choose, so the gold is the only tone decision, and it is free.
